Snooze will cause alert dialog to re-open every few seconds #522

Hi, I haven't been able to identify under what circumstances, but some times when I snooze an event, the alert dialog goes away and comes back after a few seconds. But that is not it, also once the alert dialog is up, it starts re-drawing and giving me the alert every few seconds, like if something would be making it snooze for just a few seconds and come back.

I'm in Linux using Thunderbird 45.2 with Lightning 4.7 and Exchange EWS Provider 3.8.0.

I will try turning on logs for next time this error happens and will post any error I see.

I can confirm the above issue with Thunderbird 45.2.0+build1-0ubuntu0.14.04.3 and Exchange EWS Provider 3.8.0 running in Ubuntu 14.04 LTS. As soon as this happens, Thunderbird is more or less unusable, thus I'd suggest to rate this as an important issue.

It seems to be related to meeting series where one element was updated individually.

Let me know, how I can help here.

I have also the same problem on Gentoo with Earlybird 45.3.0 and version 3.8.0 of the plugin/

slanglois commented 8 years ago

Same thing on Windows, with Thunderbird 45.3.0 and the plugin version 3.8.0

One occurrence of a series of meeting was moved. This occurrence now appears in the 2 places in the calendar - the new one and the old one - and the old one keeps on popping up. Snooze or Dismiss buttons have no effect.

Also being hit by this.

Up-to-date Fedora 24.

+1 on Windows v45.3.0 with add-on 3.8.0. It seems deleting that specific occurrence of a recurrent event gets rid of the annoying behavior, but you may lose your data on when you had that meeting, along with any updates within that invitation.

I can confirm this happens with 3.9.0 beta 1

jabl commented 7 years ago

Me too. Ubuntu 14.04, thunderbird 45.4, ews provider 3.8.0. Thunderbird is semi-usable in this state if I just minimize the notification window, then it doesn't pop up again until I try to dismiss/snooze it again.
