SETI: approach them with a contest to rain on users #59

SETI has lots of users and sharing news about Gridcoin on their site (which also shows up in the BOINC client) would be great

the idea in hangout 4 was to contact them about a challenge competition where then every participant gets rain (e.g. project rain)

funded via foundation ? see also poll in queue about his in: #45

Getting any project to create a notice (news forum post) which replicates out to all BOINC clients would be excellent exposure/advertising for Gridcoin. We may receive resistance to the idea though due to the team-neutral stance that many projects adhere to.

Ultimately, there's nothing stopping us from performing a project rain on Gridcoin users for competing in a SETI challenge. Raining on users outwith of the team is more difficult (until the project-rain BOINC project is online).

We could potentially put a bounty up for first contact established through SETI@Home.. say a million Gridcoin - it'll go unclaimed until we make first contact.. then this news will be great for both BOINC and Gridcoin.
