trading card game on blockchain:

I remember @PeppernRino investigating some trading game like this ?

mentioned in hangout 4: 1:41:30 + mentioned in hangout 7

grctest commented 7 years ago

We could look into working with https://spellsofgenesis.com/ on this, they created cards for foldingcoin (or curecoin?), perhaps they would be interested in creating a BOINC card? Ideally there would be one per project.

Many platforms exist where we can distribute user created assets, if we were able to associate a 'card' or 'collectible' with an asset we could work on this idea without spells of genesis.

Peppernrino commented 7 years ago

i have contacted Spells of Genesis through their slack, and got sort of the same kind of answer as we did from Shapeshift. considering foldingcoin was one of the first cards they did, i figured we'd be a shoe-in. they said they "put us on the list, and are very busy."

No saying someone else can't join the slack and show that more than one person is interested. :P

I envisioned years ago a card trading game similar to pokemon but called stockupon which would include metrics of actual stocks. I had thought about publicly held companies sponsoring a trading card featuring their logo and redeemable for shares later on. There were many other features i have since forgotten but this cryptocurrency platform would seem much more conducive for such a project ...count me in if you wish to brainstorm this idea more.

oh wow how cool is that? I'd love a blockchain TCG powered by gridcoin. We could have other crypto communities insert their logos and everyone would at least look at our specifications :D

Yeah im at my day job right now and will take some time later this afternoon (330ish pacific) to give you more info ...this may really turn out to be a thing...im kinda stoked about opening that page of my life again.... In a while

So im out of work a little early today but also have some other things going on this afternoon but i can take a few minutes to try to see if our goals match up and how we should proceed if they do. First off as for the actual gaming part ...thats probably not my strong point ...card design and structuring of project goals may be more where i hold more talent. And im way more about cooperation rather than competition. I would want the goal in the card game play to be about bringing talents together to better achieve a mutual beneficial objective. I also think that would gather much more positive attention in support of our project. Tell me where you see this going...ill be back on again in a while. Peace

so you are a designer and project manager? I could provide most of the technical part, if I were free to decide which technologies to use. In order not to provoke wrong expectations, this is not a project which would be finished in 3-6 months time ;) Do you know other potential card game designers?

8trak commented 7 years ago

We could call me a designer and project manager but professionally speaking i am a cnc lathe machinist ...afternoons and weekends my mind is on other interests like cryptocurrencies, my 6 y/o daughter, gardening, and web surfing. I am anxious to get things going and could only speculate on how long to fruition a project like this may take. I am not expecting this to be an overnight success but can see this becoming a worthy investment of my time and efforts. I think i have come up with a catchy name of Cryvatar Trading Cards (reserved as www.cryvatar.wordpress.com). If you think a .org would be more appropriate im open to that. As for incorporating a cryptocurrency of our own tied to the cards ...seems that would require quite a bit more work and collaboration in areas way over my head. I feel that we should come up with standardizations for cards and get a few designs put together for samples to add to proposals to potential partners. I have a few friends in mind who may prove useful like card enthusiasts and artists. Sorry if i was seeming to be pushy ...thats not me ..im really laid back and nonconfrontational ...but i do see a potentially lucrative and if nothing else a fun and challenging quest ahead and am anxious to get things moving. Tell me more about you and your insights.

So, i am concerned that this would lead to a lot of ideas without implementation. it'd be crucial to have you as project manager. if you work out a project roadmap, we could talk in more detail. But please make sure to look for additional workforce as i'd only cope for technical stuff.

8trak commented 7 years ago

Really? Is that all you have to offer?sure there are many other people i could and will bounce this off of but you seem to be reluctant to share ...please let me in on your vision ...what was it you were seeing b4 i responded to your post??

http://www.blockchainga.me Interesting link but the games mentioned do not capture what i am envisioning for Cryvatar....and thanks for the roadmap suggestion ...it seems a simple enough concept but i tend to jump in with both feet without the due consideration it seems you have ....maybe we will be a good compliment to each other

Sry for bringing you back down to the earth, but pls don't invest too much time in that. I liked Magic a lot, but besides hearthstone or gwent i wouldn't play something else because these two are awesome card games with great designs and mechanics. I would go further and say that blockchainga seems pretty absurd to me. The stupid pepe cards and also the serious cards looks bumbling. Sry again, feel free to build something like that. I'm very curios, but not as hyped as i should be i think. ;) And yes and no, i'm a honest person and not a hater. ^^

8trak commented 7 years ago

I agree the blockchainga link didnt have anything appealing to me ...Cryvatar is going silent for now whilst i refine ideas and gather my support team ....bringing everything together will be a challenge but i think worth while both to me and crew and to anyone interested in learning about blockchain technology and the potential of different cryptocurrencies. Additionally i didnt realize that my reply messages to gustav were being posted in a for-all-to-see format...going forward i will be more discreet.
