ext2 in kernel #325

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. I tried to mount ext2 fs on USB key, the system supports only ext3 fs

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I need to mount root fs with ext2 fs, before any other externel kernel module
is loaded. Could you add ext2 fs support to the kernel ?
Thank you.

What version of the product are you using?
RT-N16-1.9.2.7-rtn-r4051.trx

Please provide any additional information below.
ext3 has journal and therefore frequent writes to flash USB key makes it
unusable. For further information see:

inux-filesystem-for-usb-devices/

Sorry, we can't bloat kernel just for one personal request. You have to
customize firmware yourself.
