No reboot after flashing a new rtn-line firmware #334

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. upload a new firmware release of the "rtn" line, using the web interface
2. wait for the upgrading process to finish
3. the upgrading process seems not to ever finish; after waiting for SEVERAL
minutes, the connection is maintained (my wired connected devices keep on
working and Internet connection is available), the router responds to pings,
but no services seems to respond anymore (web interface, ssh...); I'm forced to
unplug and re-plug the power cable in order to get the router to reboot

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expect the router to reboot automatically when the upgrade process has
finished.

Having to unplug and re-plug the power cable is highly risky, because if you do
it too early you risk to brick the router by unplugging before the upgrade
process has finished.

What version of the product are you using?
The last upgrade I performed was from WL500gpv2-1.9.2.7-rtn-r4051.trx to
WL500gpv2-1.9.2.7-rtn-r4330.trx

Please provide any additional information below.
With the old 'd' firmware line the upgrade process is quite fast and the router
reboots automatically at the end.

I'm using an Asus WL-500gP V2 device.

I'm using a WL-500W and I've always had the same problem with rtn-line
firmware. Once I guess I unplugged too early and I had to recover using the
ASUS Firmware Restoration utility. The other times everything was fine after I
unplugged the router and pluged it back in.
