RT-N10U B1 - not working in client mode wireless #365

What steps will reproduce the problem?
On RT-N10U B1 with 1.9.2.7-rtn-r4656 I do the following:
- factory default restore
- system setup > operation mode > set to access point
- wireless > interface > set all the appropriate g mode security configurations
for the router to which is connecting
- wireless > bridge > set ap mode to hybrid; and add the mac of the router to
which is connecting
- wireless > advanced > set extended mode to Ethernet bridge
- ip config > lan > i use a static ip for the ap

What happens ?
When i go in status & log > wifi it keeps switching between
connecting/connected.
Command wl rssi returns a weird value for the first time, and then it doesn't
return anything at all.
AP fails to connect to the router.
Same thing happens regardless of the wireless encryption used.

Now if I do exactly the same configs on a WL-500gP V2 with 1.9.2.7-d-r3328,
everything works as expected.
Is this another Broadcom confidentiality on adapter documentation ?
