Each person (see #622 ) can be assigned one or more of the following types: author; owner; copyist; compiler; editor; . The type(s) assigned to the person determines which fields it can be used for: only persons with type=author can be used as an attributed author (manifestation)/associated author (Sermon Gold)/author (Authority file). Persons with the other types can be used as origin and/or provenance.
Add a search filter and listview column to the person listview: person type

Problem with the first point: origin and/or provenance are locations, not persons. Those models right now do not have room for a person.

Two remarks here:

It should be possible for a person to be mentioned in the provenance field, since provenance can also be expressed as a person who owned a manuscript at a certain point in time.
Because of the previous remark, this issue is related to locations. Since we hope to eventually change the way we deal with people and locations, by connecting them to standardised authority files (e.g. VIAF), no action is needed now.

Additionally (kind of related to this):

When we move to authority files for people and locations, we can also eliminate the clumsy current situation where 'Germany' is in English, but cities are in German when filtering for shelfmarks.
