I am not very savy when it comes to coding and understanding the coding languagues. I used to do trades all the time on cex.io and doubled by btc. Switched to gdax for a better market and then had my friend set up my gekko trading bot. It works and makes trades both live and paper. However, I am struggling to find good parameter values for the MACD strategy. I trade on GDAX by the way; if that changes anything. But, I can change the values of short, long, signal, and the thresholds up, down and persistance. Now what I need help me with is a good description or define what excatly these parameters do so I know what values are good ones to run. I have been running many different parameters, but I still don't understand what they mean. I'd lie a deeper understanding of what these parameters are to try to be profitable.

You probably meant to put this here: https://github.com/askmike/gekko/issues/ However, your request is not really relevant to issues with the software. You might have more luck in a trading subreddit. A lot of people doing what you are talking about frequent those.
