Enhanced mapping capabilities #54

Raised by power company They are using the app for transmission aerial (helicopter) inspections (nets, vegetation, broken equipment, right of way etc) and will then revisit the sites.

damage inspections, trees on lines, poles down

They are looking to get support for more advanced mapping capabilities:

Collected data As they are spending plenty of money to get a helicopter into the air. Seeing collected features will provide them with confidence that data has been collected. Additionally, when flying up and down power lines, they will be able to see/confirm which lines have been flown and what features have already been collected.

Reference data Being able to see reference data (e.g the power lines as they are flying or the vegetation areas that have been treated) will help them to ensure that they are getting the right coverage and are flying the right areas. Essentially they are using powerlines for the purpose of navigation.

Need to know what structures are there, so that we don't survey the same structure again.

This translates to support for their own data via the use of an mmpk or webmap. A full screen map is not required, but the existing map is too small.

+1 for custom basemaps (offline) and the ability to see collected data - Forest Management Company

+1 wildlife dept

Integrated topographic and imagery basemaps with ability to preload maps for use outside of cellular or wireless service

Entry of pre-flight information like observer, recorders, and pilot w/seat positioning (if aerial survey) Ground surveys could also be tracked and logged

Ability to upload polygons or polylines representing survey areas or transects

+1 for DoT - would like to be able to change the basemap.
