Compass icon displays at all times (not just when compass enabled) #108

Whether compass is enabled or not, icon displays in to left had corner of the main page. this should turn on or off depending on the setting selection.

testing with 3.1.19 on nokia 8 (android 10) and iphone 8 (ios 13.3.1) and windows surface pro 3 (windows 10)

on start up, compass check box is empty, compass icon not visible
i check compass check box, icon visible
tested that this setting remembered with app shut down and reopened
