I want to... Copy Content - log into another account #187

When logging into a portal to copy content from one portal to another, on separate servers. System displays root of target directory, but no maps or web apps display, and if I copy a map, it copies, but it does not show in the target portal when I log in to target.

I can log in to each server separately to ago-assistant on both portals and map and web apps show up.

Do you see any errors in the console or the network tab when you log into the destination portal?

How about when you do the copy? Any errors then? What's the response of the addItem call in the network tab?

What type of user account (Level 1 or 2?) is the destination?

No errors, copies fine, but map goes to an empty ROOT with no other maps on target account. When I log directly into the target portal the root is different it is under the USER name, and contains several maps.

Well, let's take a step back. What version is the destination portal?

I'm asking because user levels (which are new at 10.5) could be a factor here if your destination user was Level 1. It's possible that you cannot copy content to a Level 1 account.

Level 1 membership is for members who only need privileges to view content, such as maps and apps, that has been shared with them through the organization, as well as join groups within the organization. Level 2 membership is for members who need to view, create, and share content and own groups, in addition to other tasks.

We are on 10.3.

I think I found a work around.

  1. Log onto target server, where I want to copy the maps to.

  2. Go to https://ago-assistant.esri.com/ in ie. or chrome

  3. Log into portal source server, this is logging in from target machine.

  4. Select I want to copy content and log in target server, server you are logged into.

The big difference here is I was logging into source server first and copying to target server. The method above logs onto target server first.

This worked

One of our environments is giving me a portal access error from a remote server . Do you know how I give the portal server level access.

You may want to look into federation.

In general, discussions in this repo should be limited to questions or problems specific to ago-assistant. If you have questions regarding general configuration or troubleshooting of ArcGIS Server, then I recommend going to GeoNet or Esri Support for more help.
