Adding category: 'Data exploration and manipulation interfaces' #9

I was considering adding geojson.io as another tool here, but I think it also fits on the "Data generation tools" category I was planning to propose. I would say geojson.io allows you to visualize and edit raw and vector data (KML, GPX, CSV, GTFS, TopoJSON, ...), but I wouldn't say it falls in the "Data exploration tool" category. Maybe... the category should be just "Data exploration tools"? (if that's the case I would also remove Mapshaper from this list 😄 )

Another question that comes to my mind... we can include also Data Science libraries here, right? What do you think about Smart Mapping modules?

And the last one... Desktop tools are more target towards GIS analysts, right? Do you think we should include tools like ArcGIS Pro / QGIS / ... here?

@gavinr @jwasilgeo what do you think about this?

  1. I think "Data exploration and manipulation interfaces" is a broad enough category where it could be fine to add geojson.io to the list.
  2. I don't have a strong opinion either way about mentioning the smart mapping JSAPI modules. Putting it there would indeed be a nice way to help people understand some of these powerful features in JSAPI.
  3. Leaving desktop GIS tools out right now makes sense to me.
