Icons #156

Closed paulcpederson closed 9 years ago

paulcpederson commented 9 years ago

Create a set of icons to distribute with the framework for common interface elements.

These are the projected icon needs:

Social Media

@paulcpederson Want me to own this one?

paulcpederson commented 9 years ago

@CassidyB yeah. If you want to find a set of these icons from the patterns collection that you think would work well, I can do the implementation side and add them/document them in Calcite Web.

@paulcpederson Job created in the Creative Lab to pull these icons together. --- Job: #68987 Due: 5/29/15

From @fgarofalo10

When will the icons included in Calcite-Web, be updated to the Calcite Icon font?

paulcpederson commented 9 years ago

@fgarofalo10 put your email in GitHub so we could track discussion about this issue in the project itself.

If you go up to the top of this issue, you'll see that the current arcgis-theme icons don't cover our needs. Cassidy is working with Creative Lab to pull together a set of icons which we will add to the framework. I'm sure it will use a lot of the icons in arcgis-theme-calcite-icons and then supplement them where they are missing icons we need.

@paulcpederson @nikolaswise I have sent the first collection of icons over to you today to be added to Calcite Web. I will have the rest of the icons soon. Call with questions.

Any update on the socialmedia icons (that goes into the footer)? I'm wondering if you think they will be available in the next two weeks so that we can use them for the JSAPI 4.0 beta 1 release in mid-June...

CassidyB commented 9 years ago

These are done and I will be sending them this week.

ok, working on plugging in social now. Shouldn't be too long before I have a working version of this.

paulcpederson commented 9 years ago

status update

@CassidyB is sending me a more complete version of the icon font/calcite icons. I'm going to go through and make sure all the names are consistent/work with our css classes, then update the framework icons so they are a complete set. At that point this issue will be complete.

CassidyB commented 9 years ago

@paulcpederson this is coming today.

paulcpederson commented 9 years ago

Just to update people watching this issue on progress:

  1. Icon Font: I sent the icon team a set of icons with a revised set of names to adhere to a specific naming convention. They are going to look this over and send the final icon set over at which point I can add it to the framework as a v1 set.
  2. Calcite Web Icons: Waiting on a real set presumably being created by the icon team. Tooling is ready, just need a final set.

@CassidyB do you have any insights into where the icon team is at with this stuff?

CassidyB commented 9 years ago

@paulcpederson we have time set aside tomorrow to get these icons back to you. At least that is the plan right as of now. :)

paulcpederson commented 9 years ago

Ok! I think we're god on icon font and social so I'm closing this issue. I'll open a new issue for the calcite color icon set!
