Explorer generated share link does not work #8

I have generated a short URL (http://arcg.is/1PTPzJM) from the older version of Explorer for ArcGIS. However, this link cannot be open since this April. When opening the URL, only a blank webpage is shown. Apprently, the link is in a format of "https://www.arcgis.com/home/mobileviewer/appsharer.html?id=" which does not seem like working anymore.

I am wondering if this appsharer link is no longer working or not? If so, is it like permanately stop working? Is there any chances for this appsharer link to be resumed?

Hey @carollam, that appsharer redirect page was disabled when the url scheme changed for Explorer. Can you describe a little bit about how you're trying to use the old url so I can understand your workflow?

The new format of the url is: arcgis-explorer://?itemID=1e24d6926ac34b968aa15009af63e9b1&center=2563309.072314,12710999.358306&wkid=3857&scale=21969.850971

Which loads Explorer at the specified center / scale within the Web Map. Is this the expected result? image

We generated the appsharer link from the older version of Explorer and distrubuted the link out throught our printed books. Therefore we are wondering if this appsharer link will be permanently disabled? If so, we may have to spend the effort to recall all the materials. @JoelWhitney

Hey @carollam,

Would you be able to get on a call with myself and another person on the Explorer team? We'd like to hear more about how you're using the app and the app sharer link so we can determine what the best course of action will be.

Feel free to email me at jwhitney@esri.com with your contact info and I can set something up.
