In APP-6(D)(1) Table 8-6 there is a symbol depicting the LINE OF CONTACT SIDC 140200.
The description in the template column states " The line of contact symbol is created when both the friendly and enemy forward line of troops symbols are displayed."
A Line of Contact is established only when a friendly Forward Line of Troops and an Enemy Forward Line of Troops are facing each other on the battlefield. The graphical representation of Line of Contact is the result of depicting the separate symbols for Forward Line of Troops and Enemy Forward Line of Troops facing each other in close proximity to each other. As each component symbol has a unique SIDC, is no requirement to allocate a SIDC to the Line of Contact graphic.
PROPOSED SOLUTION:
Remove the SIDC from the entry in Table 8-6 for LINE OF CONTACT and insert the entry below.
