ArcGIS 10.3.1 - random points added #88

During our recent work it frequently occurred that clicking outside of the ArcMap window points were added randomly to a Basemap location outside of the ArcMap window. We are working with ArcGIS 10.3.1. (Editor > create feature > point) to attribute points to certain locations, but when clicking outside of the ArcMap window for a different task that click still created a point at a random location on the Basemap. Has anyone else experienced that problem? Any suggestions on how to resolve that issue? Thank you in advance.
