How can I add a basemap toggle/picker to Shortlist Story Map default code?

I've found a few suggestions online for adding a basemap widget to a Story Map, but they seem to be written for different templates and I can't quite figure out how the code would fit into the Shortlist code. Any guidance on this (and whether it's even possible to include a basemap switcher or picker widget in the Shortlist) would be appreciated.
