Now that SciPy is in Desktop 10.4 and Pro, we should (if available) use scipy to compute additional statistics. A couple that could be useful off-hand:
scipy
scipy.stats.kurtosis(array)
iqr = np.subtract(*np.percentile(x, [75, 25]))
