It seems that those who were maintaining in the past no longer have time. Given the import of this project to several privacy-related projects, would be great to see a known-maintainer step forward. I imagine there might be some criteria (perhaps community history?) that would allow the outgoing maintainers to be confident in who the project is being passed on to.
@mikeperry-tor, would you be interested in taking temporary ownership of the project until it is transferred to a new maintainer? That would relieve @cjeanneret and @hgourvest from any hassle of vetting, as it sounds like they're busy.
