At our meeting this week we discussed our schema and how to edit it as well as some changes Matthew made to the file system. In the schema we will be changing the line elements to line beginning and allowing for elements to be tagged over line breaks. In the coming week we will be continuing markup and Ethan is continuing to work on the project site. Gabi will be reaching out to him to meet with early next week to discuss this as well as fix some issues he's been having with Git. Matthew has also created a markdown file for us to keep track of what poems have been tagged. Overall, our project is moving along well.

Once you have a solid schema its easier to continue marking up the text, so that's good that your group decided on one. However, when you were discussing your schema did your group find it works best to have one schema that is flexible enough to accommodate your text or did your group also try creating multiple schemas?

Sounds like your process is coming along nicely. Creating a markdown file to track your poems sounds like a solid way to keep things straight, as I know you guys have a pretty significant corpus of poems. Our group is also making some changes to our repo file system and there is a comment or two under our sherlock repo about different approaches and philosophies of an organization system, so it might be worth checking that out.

I see that Ethan is working on the website, but has your group collaborated to make decisions about the basic layout and features of the site? Our group did this during a weekly meeting with our TA advisor, and to facilitate the process we created a wireframe. In other words, we drew and wrote on a sheet of paper to illustrate the basic design of the site that we came up with together during the meeting. We found this to be a good way to get the site started and ensure that it is satisfactory to all the members of our group.
