It's great that you all have made such strides in getting your corpus marked up- I know your group had a pretty significant set of poems to work with so it's great to hear you're making steady progress. One thing that may help with getting your website off the ground is starting a wireframe to help conceptualize how your site will flow and be visually experienced. I found this read pretty helpful as an intro to wireframes and other design concepts: https://medium.com/@linda1858231/basic-ui-ux-design-concept-difference-between-wireframe-prototype-and-mockup-updated-6cc41a8f8d0e This also explains a few non-analog approaches if pen and paper aren't your thing. Looking foward to what you guys come up with!
It's good that you're starting to work on getting more content onto your website. Not sure how you your group divides the work, but tasking one member with website design or CSS/HTML and others with marking up the rest of the poems might speed up your progress. However, I agree that your group is moving along at a steady pace. Can't wait to see an update on your website!
For Today's meeting, we fixed Ethan's issue with Git. His poems have now been integrated into the repository. After that, we discussed the main thing coming up for the project: Midterms.
Our goal is to finish up the remaining poems, (which of today's meeting was 16). The occupied poems markdown file has not reflected the remaining poems, but the list can be found on the previous GitHub issue made earlier today. I will fix this later. Ethan volunteered to take the extra poem from the uneven distribution.
Another goal is to get at least the pages of the website setup. Currently, we have not made much progress on the website so we need to get that moving along.
Finally, we plan to have some form of XSLT transformation for our XML markup into HTML by the deadline. Apparently, one of the upcoming homework assignments after spring break will touch up more about this, so this will be one of the last things to be finished among our midterm goals.
All in all, we're feeling really confident about the progress of our project. Have a good break everyone!
