Fighting systemic biases and Covenant #1005

This is a continuation of the previous discussion (sorry for the late reply). First of all I’d like to thank @emmairwin and @schneems for their comments. They helped me realize that my approach wasn’t quite right. My goal was to find a way to end all forms of discrimination by targeting fundamental reasons of why discrimination occurs in the first place. What I ended up with was just an expanded list of vague protected characteristics. I propose an alternative solution here. The following paragraph can be added to the “Our Pledge” section:

We pledge to be mindful of systemic biases and discrimination, and do our best to fight them. Systemic bias and discrimination can be any actions, provisions, criteria, practices, the kind of treatment or creating the conditions that contribute to inequality, social segregation and hierarchy, or limit the opportunities of affected individuals and put them at a disadvantage compared with other persons in a comparable situation, or equally treat persons who are in inherently unequal conditions.

I know it’s still generalized, so if anyone can help me here and suggest how to make it more specific and practical that would be great. But I think it’s long overdue to recognize that systemic biases exist and how one group is dominating the entire community.

I do have more ideas of how to make it more practical so that anyone can have a small set of tools to recognize and fight system biases. Unfortunately I'm way too busy atm so it'll take some time before I'll update this thread. Happy new year everyone!
