Based on Flym and Sparse RSS, this checks RSS/Atom news feeds, polling for updates from the device on a regular basis. Fetched items are available for offline reading.

Feature request: customising the widget - different view #261
I use KISS launcher, but I've just tried Catapult so I can check the widgets (so I can use a RSS reader in my home screen) but the spaRSS widget look is not for me. I'd like something more like a newspaper widget: with the feeds open and being able to see what's new without needing to open the app, just in the desktop. Maybe a different widget would be needed to do, I don't know, I'm not a developer.
