I'd love if instead of just being a fixed template there would be a project-scaffolding CLI, much like https://github.com/vuejs/create-vue (or extending it). While I have no interest in building the template itself (the content for it), I might be able to help with the CLI if you like the idea.

Sounds good. We can make a CLI for creating new projects. Good idea, thanks!
