Currently, only UTF-8 is supported.

Are non-UTF encodings really widely used for SSH in China?

PipsqueakH commented 2 years ago

definitely yes! there are other issues about non-utf8 encodings, and most terminal support other encodings. i guess encoding is the only obstacle for me to use tabby happily.

same question +1 The DBs and programs on my servers have been too old to change to UTF-8. Tabby would be the best solution for people like us if there is the charset function. I've been trying configuring config.yaml, but it dosen't work. Best wishes to anyone can solve this.

Definitely needed +1 vote. I use it for displaying temperature where the degrees symbol is currently showing as a question mark. image vs (some other well known terminal app) image

Any plan to support other non-utf8 encodings ? Such as GBK. Terminus is such a convenient thing, which makes me don't want to use other terminal tool. But we do need non-utf8 encodings

I think there is a need not only for this feature, but also for easy switching of encodings on the window, just like Xshell. image

There are always weird encoding issues with server development, plus there are older projects that were written with inconsistent encoding formats, so you need to switch them with different encodings.

This is a basic feature! +1 vote.
