The PLINK format for pedigrees foresees linking individuals with a phenotype. When creating an FAData object, it is possible to supply this type of information via the trait= parameter, which is then used in plotting pedigrees. It would be helpful
if the FAData constructor allows a sixth column in the pedigree data frame and interpret it as a phenotype, and
the respective simulation methods check for a phenotype in the FAData object in case of missing trait= parameter (also if parameter trait= was used without a sixth column in the constructor).
