I've got a SkyEcho2 and I can test code as required. Very keen to see this functionality. There is a good start here. https://github.com/DavisChappins/GDL90toNMEA I just noticed you are in Melville, I am in Bayswater and fly out of BSS
Excellent.
I have a Signal group which I use for discussion. This group is named "XCSoar SkyEcho 2 (Issue 5)". Its a light traffic group. If you give your Signal number I'll put you on. My Signal number is +61 493 122 651.
I usually only work on this when I'm at the club (NGC). I expect to release a working edition sometime in September. I'll certainly appreciate testing from August on. I usually build only for targets "UNIX", "KOBO" and "ANDROIDFAT".
The source code will appear on this git repository in either branch "Issue-5-on-master" or "Issue-5-on-NGC-Fork". I haven't pushed any code yet but can do so if you're interested.
The code is in 3 threads. From a project management point of view a thread boundary makes a good division. I mention this because if you wish to contribute code we can make a division.
Hi Peter,
My number is +61 420 755 194
Currently using openvario / xcvario and a tablet for testing.
Very interested to see the code you have already got.
I've put the word out for more testers, i'm not sure we have that many with SkyEcho2 in the club.
Thanks Paul

Hi Paul;
I don't see you on Signal yet - do you have it?
I can push the branch. But you should be aware that I'm going to be doing a fair bit of squashing and so on. I'll coordinate pushes via the XCSoar SkyEcho 2 (Issue 5) group.
So I don't know much about openvario or xcvario other they are based on an old version of XCSoar. Where's the repository for these packages?
Hi,
It's open hardware / software to run XCSoar
Running open vario (without the vario) 1000nits panel based on a custom linux with a cubbie board for XCSoar.
(Currently out of the aircraft, will install at next form2, available for development)
https://www.openvario.org/doku.php
https://www.stefly.aero/openvario/
XCVario is a dedicated vario / data routing
(Currently running 2 at the club in private aircraft, recommended)
I have a third out of the aircraft available for development

Add parser etc to get SkyEcho data into the NMEABlackboard. Display the data in a manner similar to Flarm. Optionally configure certain alerts (e.g. predicted CA).
