Can't add remote HW #444

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
Steps to reproduce:
1. Have one OWP HW already running
2. Install OWP with Installer on 2nd HW
3. Try adding 2nd HW to 1st HW Panel

Actual result:
- Auth. key doesn't work

Expected result:
- server to be added :)

Version of the product:
2.1

Server OS:
Debian 64-bit 6.0.5

Browser:
Chrome

Additional information:
Hello everyone

I saw, that their are others having problems getting a 2nd HW node running
within the panel. However, since they do not really provide easy information, I
can't figure out if I tried the right way or not.

What I do, is reading the key from /opt/...../.../.../hw-daemon.ini on 2nd HW
and on 1st HW I do:

- Add Server
- Entering Hostname
- Entering Description
- Entering Auth Key (from above)
- Leave default port and SSL off

When I leave root PW empty, if does only claim that the auth key is wrong.

- Is it right, that root PW from 2nd HW must also be provided? This could be a
first mistake from me.
- Do I have to configure something more on 1st/2nd HW?

I deactivated the root PW on 2nd HW due to key authentification. So do I have
to reactivate PW based auth?

If yep, it didn't work for me. :(

Thank you very much for your help,
Regards,
Michel

Hi,

To add a second HW to the first, you don't need to install the panel on the
second HW.

you need simply ruby installed on it.

then you can add it to the first one with the GUI.

Hi,

Thanks for the hint.

Worked great with only installing ruby :)
