Since it would lower their "security" I understand why the default shop blocks do not allow hoppers and pipes to insert/extract items. We would really like to see variants that DO allow automation for insertion/extraction though. Many servers use land claiming mods that mean other players can't just place their own hoppers on other players' shops and/or simply trust other players not to take advantage of such exploits.
