v1.0.9 ESDR3 over site-to-site L2 VPN no TX output power tune or USB mode #724

ESDR3 1.0.9 build 25102024 running on win10 and latest remote server package 20240920 running on ubuntu 22 on the radio site.

Site-to-site L2 VPN established with www.softether.org project in linux machines both operator site and radio site. End-to-end ping RTT from win10 to SunSDR2 Pro just below 60ms.

When clicking tune or TX on e.g. USB mode, no output power from SunSDR2 Pro, but rig turns in to transmitting. If I key from e-coder2 SE CW, I rig output power is normal. Chris IZ8EYP/II8M confirms the same behavior with the output power over VPN link.

In contact with EE and I got a magic value below 30ms to be on the safe side with latency (most probably meaning round trip ping RTT latency). Please not that it is impossible to achieve such a low latency if any cellular 4G/LTE link is involved on the way, and even challenging to beat with 5G NR. Many remote operators may have even doubled latency value due to two cellular links on the way. My proposal is to manage at least 100ms round trip latency.

I am experiencing the same issue. After successfully establishing the VPN connection using a Synology router as the server, I observe an average latency of 50 ms. However, there is no TX output for the tune note, and it fails to transmit in USB mode as well.

I’ve attached a screenshot of my connection for reference.
