Latency issue #14

I purchased my SS2PRO mainly for remote operation purposes. Then I tried to operate SS2PRO that is located in my remote shack from the control shack using Expert Remote System incorporated in EESDR3. Attached is a photo of my PC at control shack. You see two instances of JTDX, the right is using ERS and the left is using K3 remote system. If you take a look at the right instance of JTDX, you can see huge latency(Ave=2.33), which is a serious issue for FT8. Given Ping is only 8ms between the remote shack and the control shack, I suspect this latency is due to either ERS Server or ESSDR3(1.0.7), or both. Changing Bitrate and Latency does not solve the issue.

Sam, I have the same issue still in v1.0.7 and this audio delay problem has been looong time over several versions. I can see it just watching waterfall and comparing it with audio I hear. There is seconds delay between them. I'm running ubuntu 22 server in intel core2 duo e8400@3.0GHz passmark benchmark 2147. ERS (starter) is available for raspberry pi4 which has passmark benchmark 852. so the delay should not be due to processor as far as I understand. I even bought new e-coder2 se to get rid of this delay, but delay is still present in my setup when compared what I see on waterfall and hear. I don't know yet where the bottle neck is.

After long time stability tests I found out in my windows 10 ERS client that when I disable screen saver latency issue is gone. I have also disabled all energy saving features inclusive those found for sound card controlling in its settings.
