2 years ago Majority of the time it's just skids (literal children) doing it for fun, thinking they're cool and showing off to their friends. Some also living in poorer conditions, so it's understandable why they do it. That still doesn't make it right, they could be doing better things to earn money.
In both cases, they are zero skill when it comes to programming.
That's about it from what I know.
