What steps will reproduce the problem?

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
sending message from correct person. Sent from wrong person

Left side of the picture is the Before and the right is the After.

Well, you might be right that it's a little weird. The theory is that the left 
side targets the stranger with the red name and the right side targets the 
stranger with the green name. That means that, for instance, the swap and 
disconnect buttons on the left side will swap or disconnect the red stranger, 
and the left text box sends messages to the red stranger.

I know that could be clearer in the app somehow, but I'm not quite decided on 
how to do it.

stranger each text box targets.
