An Important but easily overlooked piece of this build is the cardboard panel. This is an important piece, which is used to block as much light as possible from leaking into the "shadow box". This helps immensely to give the display a magic, floaty sort of look - but also helps the mirror to be as reflective as possible.

Important Tips:

The face of the wooden frame sits higher than the bottom of the display monitor. To address this, I used 3 even-sized blocks of wood as spacers at the bottom of the shadow box. The "L" brackets were enough to hold the display the inch or so up, but the spacers were good for evening the load on them when it's vertical.

This is also important because we dont want to secure the monitor too firmly to the acrylic, as it could potentially break under the pressure.
