Here you go sir!

I hope I'm doing all this right. I have put some settings in CSPROJ back to my normal. I plan to release this as a BETA today.

Ok, cool, it all looks ok. Have you pulled the master branch locally and compiled? I just noticed we need to update the version in core.cs - the AssemblyVersion line

Ezriilc commented 6 years ago

Yes, I've pulled it to my local repo, and I know how to compile, but MS VS is insisting that I sign in, but won't accept any credentials. This has me stuck. Another reason to hate all things MS. I've updated the version in core.cs as well as the .version file (for CKAN). EDIT: MSVS appears to be stuck on "Redirecting" when I attempt to do anything.

fronbow commented 6 years ago

Hmmm, that sounds odd although I think it might be to do with the 2017 Community Edition - MS wanting to make sure it's used for the right reasons....ggggrrrrr. Having looked thru the project, I can't find anything that might cause that behaviour. Have you tried removing the sln and suo files before opening the solution? If they're causing a problem then I'll start adding them to the .gitignore

Ezriilc commented 6 years ago

I don't think it has anything to do with the solution or project, it's just that VS is broken. Even when using credentials I'm 100% sure about, it's just getting stuck. So, is there any other way to compile in C#?

fronbow commented 6 years ago

There's the Xamarin thing if you're stuck on Windows. I think Unity ships with an old version on MonoDevelop (Xamarin rebranded it for their suite). If you happen to have linux then I'm pretty sure there's still an "untouched by Xamarin" MonoDevelop.

Let me know if you want me to help; I can pull master and recompile with whatever stuff you've updated! Or I can fire up linux later and try it that way?!

I appreciate the offer, and I'm likely to take you up on it, but I'd like to come up with a way to compile on my own for future tasks. I don't currently have a Linux box working, but I have Unity installed, so I will see if I can make that work. Otherwise, I guess I'll try to get Xamarin to work.

fronbow commented 6 years ago

Yeah it took me a week to get my workflow setup (including the correct KSP dev version and corresponding Unity version). Have you tried repairing your VS install? Or reinstalling VS2017 Community Edition?

Shout if you need help, or you can email me at fronbow@gmail.com
