Query speed 2335 #2336

The standard searches are now an acceptable speed. But, some other things have been changed, most notably the counts for linked records shown in search results. If reviews on this PR request any changes to how those search results look then please hold off any comments until our next meeting, so I can explain why it's the way it is and changes would probably not be a good idea.

Would you be happy for me to merge and deploy this later today? Or, I could wait until Monday (which might give @prakhyatox a chance to glance at the code).
