This term is not currently used within FAIRsharing. However, we currently use the EDAM term http://edamontology.org/topic_3416 within SRAO. This has synonyms of Musculoskeletal disorders, Rheumatology, and Orthopaedics which are not appropriate as they are related subjects, and not synonyms. I recommend we refactor this class and replace with a new SRAO IRI as there are no other suitable classes within OLS. We can use the following definition: "Musculoskeletal medicine deals with the diagnosis and treatment of conditions affecting the muscles and bones (musculoskeletal system) and the impact of these conditions on your everyday life. Musculoskeletal medicine incorporates aspects of physical therapy, spinal manipulation, joint, ligament and muscle injections, acupuncture, exercise therapy. It is currently only a child of Medicine, but do we also want to relate it to the Orthopedics and Rheumatology hierarchy somehow?

Update as follows:

Surgery -- Orthopedic Surgery Musculoskeletal Medicine - synonym Orthopedics (mint new SRAO IRI as above) --Rheumatology --Orthopedic Surgery

Please note that we already have Musculoskeletal Medicine from EDAM, but (other than Orthopaedics, its synonyms are not appropriate for SRAO's purposes (Musculoskeletal disorders, Rheumatology, Orthopaedics). This will be refactored to http://purl.obolibrary.org/obo/OMIT_0010991 (and we'll use its label 'Orthopedics' as a synonym).
