o Make sure all guards are in place and operating correctly. o Avoid distraction. o Make all adjustments only when the power is off. o All tables should be secured before using the machine. o To avoid injury always remove the chuck key immediately after use. o Hold material securely with drill press, vise, or clamp. o Keep hands away from revolving spindle, chuck, drill, and chips. o Operate feed handle so that the drill cuts evenly into the work. o Ease up on the feed pressure when the drill begins to break through the material. o When drilling is complete slowly return the feed handle to the up position. o The drill press should be completely stopped before attempting to remove work, chips, or cuttings. o Step away immediately if work comes loose and is seized by drill and shut off machine at the power panel. Do not attempt to shut off the machine at its switch. o Never walk away from a drill press that is still running. Remove the drill bit and chuck key when finished.

Be sure to remove Key before use.

Be sure to safely place Key so the next human has a pleasant experience with this.
