This repository contains the data which fulfills the requirements of the Federal Communication Commission’s November 19 Further Notice of Proposed Rulemaking. It lists census blocks that are reported on the National Broadband Map as unserved by fixed broadband with advertised speeds of 3 Mbps downstream and 768 kbps upstream. The data relies on the current version of the National Broadband Map, using data as of December 31, 2011.

Move primary branch to gh-pages #1

Problem: Dataset currently inaccessible as CSV; must download and unzip.

Reason: GitHub limits the maximum blob size accessible via raw.github.com. This creates an error when you click the "raw" link from the dataset page, resulting in this URL: https://raw.github.com/fccdata/unserved_fixed_broadband/master/unserved_fixed_broadband.csv.

Solution: Instead, if the primary branch were gh-pages, the entire dataset could be directly downloaded, e.g., http://benbalter.github.com/unserved_fixed_broadband/unserved_fixed_broadband.csv (fork of repo).

i gave the lawyers this link; https://github.com/fccdata/unserved_fixed_broadband/archive/master.zip which does work. its a good solution, but the PN ship has sailed. i just didn't have time to edit it this week. thanks for this, i can modify. thanks.
