Add/implement a personal model function #185

Hi, been working on a set of data but want to try my own function to see how it fits/behaves, Is there anyway to do this? I know the documentation says to edit the init. but idk where and what to do, any example on how to add a function with various parameters would help, hopefully with pictures of some sort.
