Also, displaying the number is meaningless, since the human brain can not easily remember such a large number, moreover the number is not sequential so there is no value or reason to see the number. [[Maybe do not bother to display the number and change the "No." to "Reply"???]] << That is how my boards will roll :) In terms of front end web dev theory , one might say that the "No." followed by the number is distracting and does not fully serve the overall theme/goals of the board. Displaying the number might be considered a type of bloat? I honestly think the board would be better without even displaying the number, and it would cut down on server load a bit, wouldn't it?
Look, fchan is GREAT, especially after the new updates. It is definitely good enough now to worry about minor details like the above, to make it more user friendly. The "No." and then the number is okay- a unique and cool style, but couldn't it use some kind of minor tweak in order to make the board a tiny bit more user friendly for new visitors?
