The AP 1+2 OFF message + master caution keeps coming up in situations where I don't think it should. When I looked at the condition, it says when autopilot is off and:
climbing above 10,000',
descending above 400',
or in APP mode and above 70 knots.
Doing a visual approach almost always falls in 2. But sometimes such approach is stepped, in which case the condition is intermittent and each time the plane starts to descend, the master caution lights again and the ‘cavalry charge’ chime sound again.
What reference are the conditions based on?
As far as I can tell, it is supposed to sound exactly once whenever autopilot comes off for whatever reason (including during autoland roll-out below 70 knots). It also seems to be supposed to flash master warning (not caution) and clear it automatically.
