could be a corrupt controller.ini file try making a brand new file.
I've tried everything, edited ini, put in root, deleted all files, tested other versions of Nintendont, v4, v5 and v6, every time the Wii shuts down when I open Nuntendont.
the interesting thing is that I was testing the Nintendont-XBOX360 and it doesn't turn off, it doesn't work, but it doesn't turn off either.

nintendont x360 only works for xinput... of course an hid controller wouldnt work ..., it isnt even readed so its the same as not being there.

is there anything one can do when certain games crash on start up? a few games keep crashing exactly the same way. half the screen is green the other is black.
mega man x collection also gives me a black screen after choosing any of the games it has. I have seen other people had this issue and no one ever offered solid help besides the usual "are you sure its matched the redump md5" or whatever

MegaMan games run at 240p, no matter the forced settings, so when you pick the game resolution swaps from 480i/p to 240p, if your tv doesn't support 240p you can't play it.

Okay but my monitor works perfectly fine at 240p through hdmi on PC, is there any reason why said monitor wouldn't work with the Wii? Is there some setting I need to activate?

take a picture of your nintendont settings just to see what you are forcing.
is the normal nintendont settings (force progressive) maybe messing things up when launching through usb loader gx?

lots of bad settings here, first off
always use nintendont directly before using it through usbloader gx to make sure stuff works
second all setting should be off or auto except memory card emu so
turn off force progressive turn off native control(this disables all usb/bt controllers) turn language to auto turn video to auto
also nintendont is up to 500 you are still on 498 but that shouldnt matter for this issue.
gotcha, well im gonna assume my monitor wont accept the 240p comming through the mayflash cause it works with on PC when you setup retroarch or anything at 240p but thanks though
problem with the Nvidia shield controller, in the HID test it works perfectly, but when i start the nintendont the console just turns off. it happens when I open it through homebrew or the USB loader GX, and when I start the game without control and plug it in, the console turns off at the same time. the controller is 100% good, I use it on windows and on Shield TV
