update to nintendont 491 it fixed that issue.
@carnage702 thanks for the reply. Which version of loader.dol is 491, or where do I find it? I am using the most recent version, but I don’t know how to tell what version it is. As I’m using WiiVC injects, I never see any kind of Nintendont menu when I’m in the Wii U.
https://github.com/FIX94/Nintendont/blob/d1b29b0d08899ca8e2cd4cd7899d9dd2fda281df/loader/loader.dol?raw=true. Rename to boot.dol and replace on sd card under sd:apps/nintendont/boot.dol. You don't see the menu because you have autoboot injects so it skips it, so you don't see you don't have the latest version
@carnage702 thanks. I am already using the version you linked me to though, still to no avail :( its md5 checksum is a1c76cd65152e791b4eea510e7afb45a
Maybe you have something else connected to the wiiu ? A usb hub ? Another usb device besides the controller? Also delete the controller Ini it may be corrupt and it's not needed since ps3 controller is native supported by nintendont
@carnage702 Nothing else connected via USB. I also deleted the controller.ini, still no luck. Even if I leave the USB cable plugged in but unplug the PS3 controller, the GC Injects will load. But as long as the controller is connected, this issue persists. I also tried using every different USB port. Let me know if there's any other info that could be of use.

maybe try to reset the ps3 controller ? https://ccm.net/faq/35811-playstation-3-how-to-reset-your-controller
Thanks for the suggestion, I did try that and it didn't seem to make a difference.
For what it's worth, today I discovered if I plug in the PS3 controller via USB after Nintendont loads, I can use it just fine. Not sure why having it connected while Nintendont loads is problematic.. anyway, I appreciate your help!
Simple....you cannot use Nintendont in this way. If you have installed the Wii U channel and start Nintendont by the Wii U Menu, the cIOs it's busy to emulate the PAD connected and Nintendont goes in 255.255.255 Firmware have means that you cannot use any USB future and internet connection as well. To go around of that, you have either to create the real forwarder Channel to open the boot.dol from vWii (because as you created the WUP installation it's a boot.dol isolated package). Or If you want use your PS3 controller, you have to start the PAD emulation in Wii U to let thinking that the PS3 controller it's the own PAD that it's playing. Otherwise open simply the boot.dol in vWii mode and will work. If you are interested, I already explained this in my Nintendont Modded version in this page: https://gbatemp.net/threads/nintendont-crismmmod.580664/
maybe you could install the wup of nintendont fowarder that reads from sd card and start an iso from sd card that way you can take a picture of your settings, you can fiund a nintendont wup on usbhelper i beleive

Because if you create the Wii U channel that it doesn't forwarded directly to the boot. dol into the vWii you experience of some future limitation and the firmware of the Nintendont will change in 255.255.255. You can try to connect in internet by the Nintendont app from the Wii U channel prepared for the Wii U PAD and you will see the problem. If he experience the problems with the PS3 connected by the USB from the beginning, when he starts the Wii U channel from the Wii U menu he could have this problem of freezing because the cIOs are busy with the Wii U PAD. After, of course everything it's working well, the problem it's only how you prepare the Wii U Channel to run the boot.dol..... And to go around of that channel Wii U preparation, he could connect the PS3 controller once it booted into the GC system (have means, when it start the game).

i use nintendont without autoboot and it works fine for me with using gamepad+ps3 controllr, same with autoboot titles i tested both right now, i dont have my wiiu connected to the internet tough.

Even mine it works fine in OFF-LINE mode, and with the controller connected from the Wii U channel. I just try to explain what is going on with Nintendont and Wii U Channel, and his problem for some "artefact reason" (the SD starting to be currupted or some bad WUp installer preparation) COULD come because of the cIOs. The COULD word, it doesn't mean that it's for everyone, I talk for his specific problem and what is going on about Nintendont behind that could influence the malfuncition about the Wii U freezing channel. So it's nothing related to the Nintendont version, the problem it's somewhere else.... As i read, could be even that he prepared some GC games channels, with the same ID installation or a type of ID installation range that the Wii U meet this problem, like the code error 199-9999 created for the games that use one ID game title that does't like to the Wii U system; where if you install the game into the USB or NAND it gives you different results. I would like to ask to @ernavk how my games you installed with the injector? And with which type of ID game you have installed it.
@Special-Niewbie I have installed two GC titles with TeconMoon's WiiVC Injector script. The pregenerated title IDs, according to the script, are:
00050002474D5345 and 00050002474D3245
They are two different games however, Super Monkey Ball 2 (GM2E) and Super Mario Sunshine (GMSE): GM2E / 474D5345 GMSE / 474D5345
So maybe this is causing my issue? Both games have the same pre-generated Title ID. Both ISOs were originally .nkit.iso files that I "converted" or expanded to .iso's using NKit v1.4. Maybe this conversion process from .nkit caused them to adopt the same Title IDs?
Could be the ID problem. Let's check out where is. Try to uninstall both completely, even the save data. And install only one of them into the NAND and NOT to the USB. And try to run the channel with the controller plugged and let's see what happens.....And avoid the NKIT conversion that also this could influence, grub a normal gcn/iso.
Same issue occurs with PS3 controller plugged in via USB after using a clean ISO, uninstalling both injected games and save data completely, and installing one game (Super Mario Sunshine) to NAND. Also, disconnecting the Wii U from the Internet made no difference for me.
Also, when I use Nintendont from vWii, I am able to start this GC title with my controller connected just fine. I don't mind going about it this way, just thought I would report this issue in case other people have the same problem.
can you isntall the solo fowarder and take a pictuyre of your settings?
@carnage702
Also, if I run my GC title saved to sd:/games/[folder name]/game.iso from here with the PS3 controller connected, it works fine.

well i dont see anything that could affect anything to be honest, its either the injector that is bad or did you tryed like Special-Niewbie said and removed the internet acess from wiiu settings? like remove the connections so wiiu doesnt have internet acess and tryed to start autoboot games after?

The internet connection it doesn't influence some kind of functions of Nintendond, when I say in offline mode, have means to use Nintendont in offline because it goes in firmware 255.255.255, caused for the USB capabilities. I will try like your specific movement, with my PS3 controller and game forwarder to understand if I have the same issue. I will report you back....
Yes, even with internet access revoked on the Wii U, the error persists.
It certainly could be the injector. For example, as I discovered following Special-Niewbie's line of inquiry, the injector script generated the same Title IDs for two separate games, which it supposedly isn't supposed to do. It took me a lot of effort getting the injector working, e.g., installing Windows 7 on an old PC and getting its .NET Framework updated enough to run the program.

Ok I found the problem!!!! I repeat the same thing as your @ernavk , and it's what I told you from the beginning. This problem of freezing come out WITH ONLY SINGLE PLAYER GAMES..... I explain you why it happen, because as I told you the cIOs/ "drivers" vWii for Wii U are busy with the Wii U PAD emulation; as I said to you when the cIOs are busy with the Wii U PAD the Nintendont Firmware goes in 255.255.255 and it's the sign that it's not in normal working status because the cIOs are busy with the Bluethoot/USB and Wifi to communicate with the Wii U PAD and you lose some useless futures from Nintendont like internet connection from the app. This happen because doesn't matter what, the PAD become PLAYER 1 and it's like that the PAD it's continually connectect (even if you choose on the little pop-up menu at the beginning when you press the Icon from the Wii U Menu and select to don't use the Wii U PAD). So, anything that you will connect by the USB become automatically PLAYER 2, and the games that support by default from the beginning the PLAYER 2 it works, DOESN'T FREEZE and doesn't gives any problem. In fact when I tried some ARCADE games with the capability of TWO PLAYERS by dafault, the PAD ALWAYS become PLAYER 1 (it doesn't matter what you choose on the popup pre-boot channel when ask you if use the Wii U PAD as controller or not). So, the two games that you are using, for sure are SINGLE PLAYER BY DEFAULT. In fact when I tried Luigi's Mansion that it's SINGLE PLAYER, the boot will freeze.... second time, I tried to wait that the game it's all booted and arrive to the Game Main Menu and then connected the PS3 Controller. So, the PS3 controller it doesn't work but the PAD yes, this because the PAD takes predominance of the controller connected, it's like that the PAD it's continually connected to the GameCube controller number 1 and this for cause that the cIOs are busy to emulate this, you cannot connect any other Controller because anything that you will connect will be always as Second Player connected to the GC Port Number 2. Now, as I said above, for the games that support the Second Port and the Player number 2 it DOESN'T FREEZE THE BOOT you can play with them and you can switch in in-game the Second port to be as Player 1 (but the PAD it's always there, CONNECTED AND READY IN BACKGROUND).
To go around of that, I suggest you to try these FOUR solutions:
1) (This not sure that will work With Nintendont vWii capabilities) To use the app for Wii U called HIDtoVPAD and try to emulate the PS3 controller that it's the own Wii U PAD and will be First Player. This solution maybe coudn't work because this it's Wii U Homebrew App, that it's stored into the enviroemnt of Wii U so on vWii maybe still not "cheat" the systems to let thinking that it's the own Wii U.
2) Prepare the Wii U channel with TeconMoon's WiiVC Injector and select the option to DON'T Emulate/ use the Wii U PAD as controller, this should turn off the PAD as controller and the Nintendont will work in Firmware normal mode.
3) This if anything will work (but I'm quite positive for the second Option that will), to kill anything, you have to install the vWii WAD channel of your Single Player game into the vWii, and then create a custom Channel for Wii U that will forward directly into the WAD of vWii to let open the game into the NIntendont. This option it makes just what you make manually but everything automated from the Wii U Menu.
4) Otherwise you can download in my GBATemp page: https://gbatemp.net/threads/nintendont-crismmmod.580664/ , my vWii Nintendont forwarder and you will use this Channel Forwarder only for the Single Player Games that you wan't play with any external controller. This allows you, to open Nintendont in vWii mode automatically and take out the annoyng Wii U PAD Firmaware problems.
Let me know ;)

now you are just grasping at straws... there is no diference in codding from singleplayer games to multiplayer games and whatnot. also hidtovpad is a wiiu mode app, the moment you start any wii vc inject you exit wiiu mode and start vwii mode so the app goes away...

so it didnt work i guessed as much seems special newbie is just making stuff up, im gonna go on a limb and say its the injector that is causing issues, here is an inject i made years ago by hand before there is any inject and it works for me with hid connected and gamepad and whatnot just try to install and play it(i will delete afer since its well not suposed to be shared) try this https://www.mediafire.com/file/7t9u5pztq42g7py/Luigi%2527s_Mansion.rar/file
LOL @carnage702 , ho jesus how old are you 10 years old my boy hahahaha. Be relaxed, here we are to help each other...... Your forwarder my boy, it's working because it DOESN'T SUPPORT ANY THIRTH PARTY CONTROLLER (or at least the PS3) and of course it boot up it doesn't goes in conflight with anything external. lol works fine for me so i have no idea what you guys have on your consoles, my wiiu works just fine i just did this like 4 times in a row, im guessing some wiiu have issues with random things, for me i can just use hid controllers normaly. you guys are sure you dont have anything connected to the wiiu ports besides only the ps3 controller and every other usb port is free? btw i used the front usb ports.

lol works fine for me so i have no idea what you guys have on your consoles, my wiiu works just fine i just did this like 4 times in a row, im guessing some wiiu have issues with random things, for me i can just use hid controllers normaly. you guys are sure you dont have anything connected to the wiiu ports besides only the ps3 controller and every other usb port is free? btw i used the front usb ports.
Yes, yes for you it's working everything, I believe that your Nintendont can read even the PS5 Blue-Ray Disk retail , right?! Unfortunately, I have 3 Wii U at home and at least I explain the functionality of the software and what is going on. Learn to be more humble person (this because I'm working on it) . Trust me ;)
LOL @carnage702 , ho jesus how old are you 10 years old my boy hahahaha. Be relaxed, here we are to help each other...... Your forwarder my boy, it's working because it DOESN'T SUPPORT ANY THIRTH PARTY CONTROLLER (or at least the PS3) and of course it boot up it doesn't goes in conflight with anything external. My PS3 controller, IT'S COMPLITELY DEAD with your Luigi's Mansions Channel!!!!! I don't know with wich old version of Nintendont you builded it up, but for sure it doesn't support the extarnal USB Controllers device. Please @ernavk, try this Luigi's Mensions Channel with your PS3 Controller for me, and let us know....

Now you are just being an ass, almost everyone can get hid controllers working just fine and you are not explaining the functionality you are just throwing random shit up, one can tell you dont know much about the system at all, when you even suggested hidtovpad lol that is a wiiu app, nintendont runs on vwii mode so it would never in a million years work, it just shows you dont know anything, and sometimes it works for you sometimes it doesnt and you consider it a fact and say things like only multiplayer games work and so on.
i just started paper mario, luigi mansion, mario sunshine and they all work fine for me so im guessing is something is off on your guys ending.
I also use the gamecube bios on ntsc titles to start the games,(only works on ntsc games on wiiu) so just a shoot in the dark do you have the bios? it could maybe help who knows to see if your wiiu has more time before the game is loaded.

I hope you can read the English in the case not, I posted again here below of what I said, look:
1) (This not sure that will work With Nintendont vWii capabilities) To use the app for Wii U called HIDtoVPAD and try to emulate the PS3 controller that it's the own Wii U PAD and will be First Player. This solution maybe coudn't work because this it's Wii U Homebrew App, that it's stored into the enviroemnt of Wii U so on vWii maybe still not "cheat" the systems to let thinking that it's the own Wii U.
I already said that this not sure if will work, because this App it's Wii U Homebrew. I listed out as one option to try, as the same and more congruete other 3 Options to try. Because we talking about one specific situation, and the person ask for the help at least I don't "snivel" and just say that it's impossible and everything it's working for me and so on, at least I gave him some points to test and see where is the problem. I imagine that you didn't know even that Nintendont will change the Firmware under this condition..... I want the video of your Luigis Mansion that it's work with your Wii U and the PS3 controller attached in the front USB, after I'm ready to listen everything from you. I Promise..

using 490 boot.dol on the sdcard nothing attached to wiiu usb ports besides the ps3 controller
LOL @carnage702 thanks for the video, I was sweating because I was thinking that I must keep my promising hahahahah....... For luck no hahahah.... Your it's working, because you run the Wii U System and game completely off from the Wii U PAD and the Wii U PAD it's complitely disconnected and the cIOs from Nintendont are not busy at all with anything for the emulation. I can see, because in the Wii U Menu appear the hands and you are using Wii U Pro controller. What I make and fo sure it's what @ernavk make we navigate or controll the Wii U with the own PAD and then start the channel, in this way the cIOs will be activated to emulate the Wii U PAD doesn't matter what........
I have somewhere the Wii U Pro..... I will turn on the Wii U from the Pro Controller instead of the PAD and let you know........

WHAT ? LOL i was using wiiu gamepad that is why the wiiu gamepad notice appear, i wasnt using wiiu pro lol, i was using wiiu gamepad and wiimote and i used the wiimote select because it was easier one handed to film ...
if i select the inject with wiiu gamepad and choose no i need to use the wiimote to continue anyway...
lets get things straight... 1 if you start the inject with wiiugamepad and select yes it will work but wiiugamepad will be player one which means hid will be player 2 so i cant use hid on single player game .. but on multiplayer games i can use hid+wiiugamepad just fine do i need to make another video?
2-if you start the inject with wiiugamepad and select to not use the wiiu gamepad you must use the wiimote to proceed since you cant start the inject with wiiugamepad if you choose no, but then you can use hid as player 1.
what exactly do you want me to do? start a game with choosing not to use wiiu gamepad and still share the screen? i dont get what you want really. want me to start a multiplayer game proving wiiu gamepad and hid can coexist?

if you want here is the video of me selecting with the wiiu gamepad lol i used the dualshock 4 this time becuase i was trying to ghet rumble to work(without much sucess) and hid is hid so its the same thing. https://www.mediafire.com/file/zo0ipx4nms1ufju/luigi_2.mp4/file
I'm going to finish some other tests and report you back the issue...... Anyway @carnage702, the installer tha you passed still not working with the PS3 connected.
@ernavk Finally, after different tests I discovered where of this weird and annoying problem it is..... Re-make please the package installation with TeconMoon's WiiVC Injector and be sure to select under the Voice "Advanced" the box where it's writed "Specify custom Nintendont Forwarder" (with your Wii U SD inserted into the PC), and then with the 3 little dots square box next to it, please go to point the normal Nintendont folder location ''Sd:\apps\Nintendont\boot.dol''. After, once the package it's done and you installed it into the Wii U, as normal as should be select to don't use the Wii U PAD as controller; and continue with your Wii controller to start the Channel. Once started the Channel, finally can read the PS3 Controller or wherewer it is. Anyway, I don't use the Wii U in TV mode but only in mobile mode, so for me it doesn't matter so much, but anyway great experience to learn some strange stuff problems. @carnage702 Not sure why with your it doesn't work , maybe the package from your Wii U it's a different package of what you passed me and you cannot remember, because as you said it passed long time. But, anyway, thank you for the discussions and sharing points ;)

its the exact same package i installed it and download right before doing the videos since i had delete it long ago to get space on wiiu nand, so the link i posted was the same i downloaded myself and installed and did the video, so something must be wierd on your end, either ps3 controllers arent exactly the same codding like fakes/3rd partys? or just diferent versions?
also i forgot to mention probably doesnt matter but i dont use a controller.ini file, i just let nintendont take controll of my hid devices since ps3 and ps4 controllers are already hardcoded in the boot.dol itself.
@carnage702 It's truly wired this my friend, now I try to test with different PS3 controllers with and without Rumbles.... I will try even with different console controllers , and I have the same build in hardcoded controllers (I have tested in different ways even with different boot. dol Nintendont versions) For luck i can see where it stuck and it stuck on:
Loading patched kernel... 1
ES_Init.... Done!
and then freezing the app

im guessing nintendont is trying to initiate your usb controllers as hdd or something else as an hdd and failling, no idea why maybe because something you guys installed or not installed who knows its a mystery.
Stop everyone........ Jesus Crist this it's really fantastic story....
After billions of test and different controllers testing, I arrived to the Xbox Microsoft controller and I noticed that the old game installation started.
And then I was startintg to thinging that it's something related to the PS3 and even PS4 controllers.....
Then I open and check the code into Nintendont to understand if there is something strange, and on that point I found some code modified in the past from someone, where exactly it say this:
// Cleans the -1 when it's past it to avoid confusion if another error happens. e.g. before it showed "81" instead of "8" if the controller was unplugged.
And I noticed that my PS3 controller not everytime it's flashing in paired mode in the same way, and I was thinking that maybe it's the PS3 controller that when flashing it pair and unpair continually before start the game.
So, in the end if you face this problem of freezing it's about that the controller it gives some strange input and freeze Nintendont; @ernavk in this case you no need to do anything just plug the Ps3 controller when you will see the GameCube Boot loading or the first game presentation and then press the Center Playstation button located to the controller and the controller with Nintendont works fine!! LOL I spent hours for this stupid problem.

everyone already knew you could start the games without the hid controller attached and attach it afterwards ... also xbox controllers are not hid, they are xinput so they dont give any usefull info for hid so nintendont does not use them.
but yeah the entire problem was starting the inject with usb cable connected which wasn't fixed, since you could all this time start a game and then plug the controller since forever, i have no issue just leaving the controller in but it appears you have and maybe the op which is weird.

Ok, but how you explain if you re-prepare the package with the Injection it still boot up even with the controller plugged at the beginning?

well you said my luig mansion doesnt work for you and its the package i made before any injector even existed, and if it doesnt work for you then something is off as mine arent probably any diferent from the prepared ones that the injector makes, if it works on my wiiu with my ds3 it needs to work on yours, now if all your injections are bad i have no idea, on my end they work, heck if you can send me one of your installs that freezes with usb controller connected like you said, i will install it and text it on my wiiu if it does the same for me.

Also it's not everyone knows this problem because otherwise everyone can think about this solution in few seconds, because if you start the game from Nintendont, Nintendont it doesn't freeze. I noticed that It freeze only when the Autobooting it's turn on and the game start from the Wii U channel with the PS3 flashing under charging (at least from my side only this game because with the rest no problems at all). Is that your controller not flashing or you plug it in full charge when you start the game from your Wii U Menu?

while on wiiu menu my ps3 controller is always flashing the 4 lights even if its fully charged.
Ok, please, let's see if it's the game or some specific PS3 controllers range to cause this.....
Hi, I'm trying to use official Dualshock 3/Sixaxis via USB with my Wii U to play GC titles with analog triggers. I am using HaxChi on a 32GB Wii U on FW 5.5.3. I used TeconMoon's WiiVC Injector Script and WUP Installer to add these injected titles to my Wii U menu. They are stored in NAND, not my SD card or any external USB storage.
I have tried both the latest version of Nintendont boot.dol (commit d1b29b0) as well as GaryOdeNichts version posted on GBAtemp. I am using the "controller_ps3.ini" file saved to my SD root, i.e., "SD:/controllers.ini". I have also tried placing this .ini file in "SD:/controllers/0268_054C.ini".
In either case, after I launch the title and the Wii U gamepad displays the Wii logo, the Wii U is stuck in a frozen/black screen state and will not power down from the Gamepad or power button. I have been able to play these titles with the Gamepad with no issue previously -- it seems that merely connecting my USB HID device causes Nintendont to fail.
Revisiting the Nintendont GBAtemp thread, since my WiiVC GC Injects are stored in NAND, should I be somehow placing the controller.ini file in NAND? Thanks in advance for your help!
