@ncellinese please send me the definition/phylocode
Ok, so I checked the new code and this is the text for the abbreviation: "The following conventions are adopted for abbreviated definitions: max = the largest; min = the smallest; ∇ = clade; () = containing; [] = as exhibited by; apo = characterized by apomorphy [followed by the name or description of the apomorphy]; & = and; ~ = but not; A, B, C, etc. = species or specimens used as internal specifiers; Z, Y, X, etc. = species or specimens used as external specifiers; M = an apomorphy used as an internal specifier"
Let me now if this is not clear. They also want to put one space between text and symbols. We had no space before. This is all so useless! I am going to send them an email to ask them why we need this.
Abbreviated Definition:
• The abbreviations need to be updated in light of the extensive revisions to Article 9 in PhyloCode Version 5 (e.g., need to replace “V” with “&” symbols for “but not” definitions with multiple external specifiers).
• We prefer spaces in the abbreviated definitions—e.g., “> ∇ Iguana” rather than “>∇Iguana”.
