There is a larger ecosystem of tools that have developed over the intervening time. Anonymization within pypx using those tools is not on the roadmap -- there is now a separate python module we have created called

pfdicom_tagSub

https://github.com/FNNDSC/pfdicom_tagSub

That is the preferred mechanism for anonymizing data in the FNNDSC family/suite of software. In fact, the workflow is for pypx to only focus on data reception and have anonymization occur downstream (and outside) of pypx.
