This did save my ass when I fucked up the s13 coil pinout.
Yep, configurable pins is a must, the problem lies in that you don't configure pin 1 to output 1, you have to set pin 1 to the 1st value in the firing order.
It's not a 1:1 mapping it's a weird firing order dependent allocation
oh.. Fuck... well car starts fine for now...
Sounds like this does catch people out. Your not the first person. We found it when we started doing a ford wasted spark V8 and the pairing was strange.
I think it works fine but is unintuitive. Major need for detailing in the documentation. @BeerMoneyMotorsports any comment?
Its a little odd. For instance, miata uses 1 and 3 for its channels. This trips users up who do spark test in bench mode. They expect it to be 1 and 2. Not sure that is a real issue with firmware or the hardware config.
Its been super critical to the swaps ive done to be able to choose the pin. Like @OrchardPerformance said, clarification should be all we need. Maybe a tool tip explaining its a pick your own adventure?
Maybe for some of these tool tips it should say “choose for your car or refer to your pnp base map”? Many of these configs wont need to be fucked with on pnp stuff.

Note - 100% know this one has caused some confusion, the pin order is dictated by firing order picked in engine config, it's possibly kind of clever but it REALLY seems to confuse users.
