To be used in a true laboratory setting, the outer shell of the centrifuge should be able to be thoroughly cleaned. The current design has holes on the inside and a 3D printed shell will have all small pores where contaminants can accumulate.
A smooth one-piece outer shell can be cleaned easily. I want to try whether we can have a vacuum formed outer shell that can be placed over the current housing like this:
