Exhibiting the letters shouldn’t be an issue, I just need to pick the up from @schneidy’s house. Need to follow up with him on when is a good time to get them. We will also need to get a touch screen monitor like we had at imagine to exhibit them.
Last I had heard from Kyle he had some ideas of features to add to the letters, so I will follow up with him to see if he still wants to do that.
Discussed briefly. Jen reached out to @nlMeminger and @KST123ABC about the MAGIC letters. I'm unassigning myself and unflagging this for immediate follow-up.
@nlMeminger and @KST123ABC, let us know if you need any help with this. :+1:
Hey @nlMeminger and @KST123ABC, how are things going? Think you'll have them ready for this weekend?
@jwflory SMS probably not unless I magically find time. Everything else I have been working on works so it is publicly reachable.
Done with hex and natural language color processing for texts. working on rgb and then sending the requests after finishing something else :smile_cat:
Cannot get the POST to flow through Django to the DB. All other letter/color analysis is complete.
Maker Faire is now done. Thanks @KST123ABC and @nlMeminger for exhibiting these at the fair with us. :tada:
Summary
Set up and exhibit big MAGIC letters at Rochester Maker Faire on Nov. 17th
Background
FOSS@MAGIC was invited to exhibit the big MAGIC letters built by @nlMeminger and Kyle Suero last semester.
Details
Need to follow up with @nlMeminger if (1) this is doable / he has bandwidth to set them up in time, and (2) coordinating with @itprofjacobs on logistics to exhibit.
Outcome
People see the awesome MAGIC letters, people tell @nlMeminger he is awesome to make them, more people are aware of the programs and activities of FOSS@MAGIC
