Changing the gamemode name to ZombieRP #1735

Hello, I am using the default darkrp gamemode. I am trying to make the server label under ZombieRP instead of DarkRP. I am not sure how I can do it. Is there any guidance for that?

Don't. You are using DarkRP, not "ZombieRP".

What you ask is disrespect to FPtje and the developers of the gamemode.

Not exactly, all credit is theirs. However, I am in need of players. It would be more efficient if it were labeled under ZombieRP rather than DarkRP. Without due respect.

1: no, it just makes a mess of the server list. Millions of other people do it all the time, theres 1942RP, SchoolRP, HaloRP, MafiaRP, but its all DarkRP.

As afformentioned, it is disrespectful to people like Falco, Bo, myself, and everyone who has contributed to DarkRP, if you rename it for your server.

If you want to remake it, put some effort in and make your own gamemode.

Also its far from efficient to rename to zombierp, the DarkRP gamemode is one of the top 3 in the server list, ZombieRP isnt even first page.

Well, even though you may find it disrespectful, I wish to label my server. And with the disadvantage of other servers on that list, it makes it harder to find on DarkRP. I wish to have my server listed where it can properly be seen by other players who have an interest in the gamemode.

After all, isn't the gamemode meant to be modified?

I talked to Garry about this back when he first introduced the server browser we have now. He said that he would ban any servers from the list that did this because of the mess they would make. He hasn't done such thing yet, but it goes to show how much people hate server owners doing this.

Well its kinda dickish, really.

And its hard to police it when there are legit people who make their own private gamemodes (id quote PERP but...)

Truthfully, the only way Garry could do that is if he joined each and every individual server, and verified the gamemode is unique.

But theres a double standard. DarkRP was originally a deviation from LightRP.

And finally, garry would have to update his terms of service on Garrysmod.com, something he failed to do with the GAC bans of 2013, which got me 2 accounts unbanned due to a legal technicality regarding the justification of known LUA hacks.

But I digress.

Look, your point was made ages ago: anyone with any interest in providing a wholesome experience to the Garry's Mod community hates it. Just look at OP's typing, no offence but he is far from wholesome
